The Power of Words: Emotional Intelligence in Articles

from:

Writing is among several media man has been accustomed with since he first saw civilization. It is no wonder that until now, this very medium has still managed to retain its worth.

We know history because some people cared to write them down into pages. We learned philosophy because philosophers of the ancient times have known the importance of preserving their thoughts into writing. We know life because too many times have we encountered written accounts on it. And as evident as it may seem, emotional intelligence has creeped into the world because somebody wrote his understanding with ink.

The book on Emotional Intelligence by the psychologist and author Daniel Goleman revolutionized the views of people with regards to a person's success.

For long, people believed that the only true determinant to a person's achievements is his intellect. This is measured through Intellectual Quotient or what we simply call as IQ. IQ therefore is the measure of how intelligent a person is depending on the level of his ability for logical analysis and a number of other fields.

We don't know exactly why people readily embraced emotional intelligence as fact. This does not negate though that many disagreed with Daniel Goleman and saw enough evidence as to why emotional intelligence must not be recognized as a part of intelligence.

With the rise of controversies and interest in this new field, many authors have shared their opinions. That is either to add up with the present knowledge or to scrutinize and find loopholes with this new field in psychology. Nonetheless, the general public has found wisdom in using emotions in becoming the persons they want.

With the style of living we have, it is consequential that we encounter from time to time articles that discuss emotional intelligence.

Words have this power to influence our thoughts. To help us realize what must be accepted and what must be denied. Words have created so many changes in mankind.

Because of words, the Son of Man was crucified. Because of words, nations fell. Because of words, wars started. Because of words, a person changes.

There are endless possibilities that words may cause us. And living in our present environments, words still rule our thoughts, our decisions and our knowledge of things. In a word, things may change. In a word, things will find their value. And by use of words, we will find the changes and values between any of the issues we are confronted to.

The articles that we encounter in the Internet on emotional intelligence or those that were published are all great contributions to the knowledge we have on emotions and how they affect beings. The focal point of all changes occurred when the book on Emotional Intelligence emerged into scene.

Articles on emotional intelligence will provide us previews on the present vault of knowledge man has on emotional intelligence. You might find some disproving information as provided by other articles and you might find many that would support the claims of the pioneers on the field.

Nevertheless, we can't deny the truth that no matter how useless an article on emotional intelligence may seem, there are still grains of truths that are embedded in them. And each of these grains is a tiny contributor to the greater scheme of things.
